What Came First?

One of the oldest questions in history is, "What came first, the chicken or the egg?"

One of the oldest answers to that question was given by Aristotle, who stated that it was, in fact, the chicken.

The philosopher postulated that while a chicken is an actual chicken, an egg is potential chicken. Since actuality always precedes potentiality, the chicken came first.
