Throw It Away

"CASTING ALL YOUR CARE UPON HIM: FOR HE CARETH FOR YOU." (1 PETER 5:7)
The Greek word for 'cast' means "throw it away! What are you dragging around from your past? Old pain, old scars or a torch for somebody who's already moved on? God's Word to you today is - 'Throw it away'. It's draining your life! You're sacrificing your future to an idol that's not worth your worship.
Why would God tell you to do something so radical? Because "He careth for you". That's right; while you are caring for it, He is caring for you. It's hard to watch somebody you love twisting in pain because of something they shouldn't even be carrying. God has no problem making the thing leave you alone; His struggle is in getting you to loosen your grip on it. So, He speaks to you, not to what's bothering you and says, "Throw it away."
If you know you need to do this and you're willing to do it today, pray this prayer: "Father, so often we contribute to our own storms. We hold on to things You want us to release, and release things You want us to hold on to.
Today I repent of my lack of trust in You. I make a commitment to grow stronger because of this season of pain. Thank You for preserving my mind and letting me live to whisper this humble prayer. If You had not kept Your hand on me, I wouldn't be here. Thank You for another chance. Armed with this experience and Your presence, I know I'll be fine.
