WORDS OF WISDOM
ACCUMULATED ALONG THE WAY

Try to fix the mistake not the blame.

There is a time to let things happen and a time to make things happen.

Live as though everything you do will eventually be known.

Old age isn't bad when you consider the alternative.

Change yourself and your work will seem different.

Be a lamp in the room, if you can't be a star in the sky.

The world belongs to the enthusiast who keeps cool.

Only you can defeat you.

I'd better not be wasting time, for time is wasting me.

Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but the manner of traveling.

Just about the time you think you can make both ends meet, someone moves the ends.

Talent may develop in solitude, but character is developed in society.

All people smile in the same language.

The more difficult the obstacle, the stronger one becomes after hurtling it.

No difficulties, no discovery. No pain, no gain.

Of all the troubles great and small, are those that never happen at all.

Life is too short to be little.

Stretching the truth won't make it last any longer.

Life is not the candle or the wick — it is the burning.

It is often surprising to find the heights that can be attained merely by staying level.

What I must do, and not what people think, is all that matters.

The greatest distance we have yet to cover lies within us.

A good example is the best sermon.

Children need models more than they need critics.

Fear brings more pain than the pain itself.

What I am to be I am now becoming.

Speech may sometimes do harm, but so may silence, and a worse harm at that. No insult ever caused so deep a wound as a tenderness expected and withheld; and no spoken indiscretion was ever so bitterly regretted as the word that one did not speak.

Why is it that opportunities always look better going than coming?

Habit is a cable. We weave a thread of it everyday until we cannot break it.

You can kill me and eat me but I don't have to taste good.

Be kind to one's virtues, and blind to one's faults.

You can't keep trouble from coming, but don't give it a chair to sit in.
