AFRICAN AMERICAN PROSE

ADDICTED
By Cikeithia Sellers

I take a hit of you and I am addicted
You are a part of my system
Like that apple pie I had
Laxatives do not remove you from my insides
I breathe, eat, and sleep you
Feigning for a new day
To try a different drug to inject into my veins
But he did not satisfy my highs
I used to get
How did I get to this point
Where you control my highs and lows
My yes and no
I had you under control
Now I am hooked again
Damn you and I guess me too
For trying this new drug
Get out of my face
Go home to your wife
I will see you tomorrow
